- Paran Katar’s wife, Thal Paran, gives birth to twins who he names in honor of Carter and Shiera Hall, (AKA Hawkman and Hawkgirl) Katar Hol and Shayera Thal.

- Ted Grant retires as the still undefeated heavyweight boxing champion.

- Rex Mason becomes Metamorpho when he comes into contact with a mysterious meteor after being left for dead in a lost Egyptian pyramid.

- Rich playboy Oliver Queen is stranded on a deserted island and teaches himself archery to survive. Later he will use his newfound skills to escape from the island by capturing a group of pirates and become the hero Green Arrow.

- The evil Anti-Monitor leads hordes of Shadow Demons from the anti-matter universe of Qward in an attempt to destroy all of reality in an event known as "the Crisis". This event shatters the multiverse and restructures it forever. Instead of replicated realities "tied" together through vibrational attunement, Hypertime is created and a myriad of possible time streams are created to link together the strands of the restructured "Prime Universal Matrix".
- Billy Batson is given amazing powers by the wizard Shazam and becomes the costumed champion, Captain Marvel, of Fawcett City, Ohio.
- Barry Allen learns that Iris Allen was still alive in the distant future. He travels to the year 2957 to be with her. One month later, he is drawn into the Crisis and dies saving the universe from the Anti-Monitor.
- Wally West's powers are severely diminished in the last battle with the Anti-Monitor. Despite this, he becomes the third Flash in memory of Barry Allen.
- The new Dr. Light makes her first appearance during the Crisis and joins the JLI.
- Guy Gardner is activated as a Green Lantern during the Crisis.

Although Hermes and Circe perish and Wonder Woman is reverted back to her clay beginnings in Circe's final act of defiance, both Circe and Wonder Woman are resurrected by the gods for reasons of their own.
- JLA embassies spring up around the world. The Justice League is split into two teams, Justice League America and Justice League Europe.
- Superman discovers the Kryptonian Eradicator artifact, which creates the Fortress of Solitude in Antarctica upon his return to Earth.
- Rip Hunter cracks the time barrier. His life is forever changed.
- The Daxamite hero named Valor makes his debut on Earth.

- The Eradicator turns Superman into the Krypton Man, but Clark is able to overcome the artifact's influence with the help of his earthborn family.
- Clark Kent leaves the Daily Planet for a short time to become managing editor of Newstime magazine. After his return, he begins dating Lois Lane.
- The new Flash, Wally West, moves to Keystone City, Pennsylvania. His powers begin to gradually increase.
- David Knight and Will Payton vie for the role of Starman. However, after they battle with the original Mist, David concedes the role to Payton (who continues to be Starman).
- Ray Palmer fakes his own death and gives his size-reducing belt and "Atom" identity to Adam Cray.
- Martian Manhunter falls under the sway of the Bloodgem and becomes the hero Bloodwynd.
- Lawyer Mitch Shelley's office is bombed and the amnesiac Shelly is kidnapped, experimented on and murdered by "the Lab".

- Will Payton is presumed dead after fighting Eclipso.
- The JSA reappears from Limbo.
- David Knight becomes the sixth Starman but is killed a week later by the Mist's son, Kyle.
- Jack Knight becomes the seventh Starman to stop the Mist's crime wave. Jack kills Kyle and defeats the Mist with the help of the Shade.
- The Guardians return and reinstate the Green Lantern Corps.
- Queen Hippolyta calls for a new contest and arranges it so that Artemis, one of the descendants of Antiope's Amazons, wins the title of Wonder Woman.
- The second Wonder Woman, Artemis, is killed in battle with the White Magician; Princess Diana reclaims the title.
- In a battle with the madman calling himself Charybdis, Aquaman's left hand is eaten by a swarm of piranha. It is eventually replaced with a cybernetic hook created by S. T. A. R. Labs.

- Nash, the daughter of the original Mist, assumes her father's former identity and begins a crime wave in Opal City. During a battle with Starman, she knocks him out and conceives a child with him.
- Green Lantern Hal Jordan is allowed to return to Earth. Green Lantern John Stewart is taken to the planet Oa to oversee the Mosaic Community.
- Princess Diana receives a morphing, invisible plane from a race of aliens living under the Antarctic ice.
- Mark Tyler becomes the vigilante Mourningstar.
- When Diana and the other Amazons begin reverting to clay, the Olympian gods decide to return to Earth. They resurrect their faithful followers.
- Doomsday, a creature of Kryptonian origin, appears and cuts a swath of destruction on its way towards Metropolis. Superman stops the creature at the cost of both their lives.
- John Henry Irons, inspired by Superman's self-sacrifice, creates a suit of armor and calls himself the Man of Steel; later her would be known simply as Steel.
- A clone from Project Cadmus is stolen by the Newsboy Legion and becomes Superboy.
- The Eradicator reappears in human form, calling himself the Last Son of Krypton.
- Thirteen year old Cissie King-Jones adopts the identity of Arrowette.
- Hank Henshaw combines the information stored within Superman's birthing matrix with his own machine-controlling powers to create a cyborg body of Superman for himself.
- Coast City, California is destroyed by the interplanetary conqueror, Mongul with the help of the traitorous Cyborg. The partners create Engine City, the staging point for a full-scale invasion, in its place.
- Superman returns from the grave due to all the solar energy his body had absorbed from Earth's sun. He is transformed into the "Man of Energy" and has a containment suit created for him by Professor Emil Hamilton.
- The resurrected Superman, Superboy and Steel defeat the Cyborg.
- Green Lantern avenges Coast City by defeating Mongul.
- The Cowl discovers a relationship between the nature of Hypertime and the Speed Force.
- Speedstar first clashes with Hammerjack and his crime family. He is not able to prove Hammerjack of any wrong-doing and vows to bring him to justice.
- Engine City is destroyed when the Last Son of Krypton sacrifices himself to stop the alien invasion of Earth. A monument is raised to the citizens of Coast City and to the Last Son of Krypton to honor their lives.
- Hal Jordan's grief over the loss of Coast City, his resentment at the time he lost with his loved ones due to his duties as a Green Lantern, and his feelings of powerlessness cause him to go insane. He single-handedly destroys the Green Lantern Corps, the main power battery on Oa and nearly all the Guardians of the Universe. In the process of his lashing out, Hal Jordan becomes Parallax.
- Dr. Sydney Happerson is killed by a weakened Lex Luthor, but not before he destroys one-third of Downtown Metropolis.
- Downtown Metropolis is repaired when Brainiac 2.0 attempts to "reboot" the city and transform the world to his own designs. Although Superman is successful in stopping the transformation of the world and defeats Brainiac 2.0, Metropolis becomes the City of Tomorrow.
- Jean Paul Valley becomes Azrael, the avenging angel of the Order of St. Dumas.
- Speedy becomes Arsenal.
- Batman is weakened and then critically injured by the villain Bane.
- Jean Paul Valley becomes the second Batman at the request of the original.
- Kyle Rayner becomes the last Green Lantern when he is given the last power ring by the last Guardian of the Universe. He is given no choice in the matter.
- John Stewart, stranded on Oa and unable to fulfill his responsibilities to safeguard the Mosaic Community, is approached by the Darkstars and recruited as one of their own.
- The Mosaic Community destroys itself, despite the efforts of Darkstar John Stewart. Stewart, the sole survivor of the cataclysmic tragedy, mournfully returns to Earth.
- The Outsiders reform.
- Through an unusual biochemical process, Grant Emerson is transformed into Damage.
- Guy Gardener's latent alien Vuldarian genes, of which he had no previous knowledge, activate to save his life after being stranded in the star system of Vega alongside the Omega Men when the Green Lantern Corps was destroyed. He adopts the identity of Warrior and eventually returns home to Earth.
- Superboy saves Valor's life by sending him into the "Phantom Zone". Later, Superboy is taken to the future for the first time by the members of the Legion of Super-Heroes in order to free Valor from the zone.
- Deborah Keenan becomes a Darkstar. She is later given the responsibilities of Protectorate of Earth by Colos before he leaves to report to his superiors. She bases her operations in the deserts of Nevada, near her home in Las Vegas.
- The mysterious Supergirl, Laurel Kent, (a refugee from a possible future and daughter of Clark and Lois Kent) arrives on Earth to prevent the future she knew. She possesses the same powers as Superman, the Man of Energy.
- Labrynthe first meets the vigilante known as Mourningstar.
- The new Batman descends into madness, getting increasingly violent and has the mantle of the bat stripped from him by Bruce Wayne. Jean Paul Valley reassumes his identity as Azrael.
- Still needing time to recover from his injuries, Bruce Wayne allows Dick Grayson to become Batman for a time.
- Labrynthe's search for other Zeebeefreebians on Earth leads him to conclude that there were an untold number of hybrids like himself living on Earth he had never met before.
- Bruce Wayne returns to Gotham City and reclaims the mantle of the bat, adopting a darker look and tone.
- The Cowl enlists Rafael's help in persuading local research facilities to test his theories.
- A virulent plague known only as "the Clench" is released upon Gotham City by the Order of ST. Dumas. Azrael unlocks the disease's secrets and delivers a vaccine in time to cure Robin, who had succumbed to it.
- Ra's al Ghul and his new ally, Bane, are revealed to be the masterminds behind the Clench. Batman and his allies pursue Ra's and Bane across the globe in order to prevent them from releasing a worse cache of viruses from an ancient "Wheel of Plagues".
- Superman is able to assume a powerless human form and resume his life as Clark Kent.
- Nightwing begins operating in Bludhaven, New Jersey in an attempt to uncover murders linked to Black Mask and his gang.
- Azrael destroys the Ice Cathedral, principal base of the Order of St. Dumas.
- Attempting to fix the mistakes of the past, Parallax destroys time in order to reshape it to his will in an event called Zero Hour.
- Alan Scott loses his power ring and is made younger. With the energies of the Starheart now a part of him, Scott renames himself Sentinel.

- Clark Kent's boyhood friend, Kenny Braverman becomes the kryptonite-empowered villain Conduit and begins a systematic plan to destroy all of Clark's loved ones out of jealousy.
- Superman finds the bottled city of Kandor.
- Linda Park is murdered by Savitar, who has returned to Earth to finish what he started.
- The demon Neron offers the villains and heroes of Earth their heart's desires in exchange for their souls. Neron is duped by the Trickster and his plans are thwarted.
- The JLA is disbanded by the United Nations.
- The Flash, (Wally West) confronts Savitar alongside Max Mercury, the original Flash, Impulse, Johnny Quick and Jesse Quick. The Flash tricks Savitar into following him into the Speed Force, thereby sacrificing himself to save the world. However, the villain brutally murders Libby Lawrence-Chambers, (the semi-retired Golden Age hero, Liberty Belle) before he is defeated. In Wally’s honor, Jesse Quick assumes the mantle of the Flash by becoming Lady Flash.
- Contessa Erica Alexandra del Portenza takes over LexCorp and later marries Lex Luthor.
- The New Titans reform under Arsenal after the disbanding of the Team Titans.
- Supergirl joins Superboy in the future for the first time and meets the Legion of Super-Heroes in the 30th Century.
- Katar Hol and Shayera Thal arrive on Earth to apprehend a dangerous alien life form that was sent to Earth by the aging criminal Byth Jabari. They are dubbed the new Hawkman and Hawkgirl by the media, something that Carter and Shiera Hall voice their approval of before the twins journey home once again.
2001 C. E.
- Labrynthe and Speedstar confront the demon Faceless Jack and the mysterious group known only as the Thirteen. Through the power of the Spectre, both heroes are taken back to inhabit the body of Charity Brandenburg, the unsung partner and lover of Empire City's Golden Age hero, Swashbuckler, so they could learn the nature of the soul they were defending from Faceless Jack (it is hinted that Charity was the soul Faceless Jack was after and, in very cryptic ways, that either Speedstar or Labrynthe was actually Charity's reincarnated soul).
- The Cowl prepares to explore the boundaries of Hypertime and the Speed Force.
- Earth's sun is menaced by the Sun Eater, causing the planet to darken worldwide and Superman to lose his powers.
- Labrynthe learns that Zeebeefreebians were distantly related to White Martians from his mother and warned that it was foolhardy to investigate any further to find others like himself.
- Speedstar confronts a future version of himself who battles him and races him to join the Speed Force. The future version of himself merges with the Speed Force as Speedstar's powers are reduced due to the backlash of energies. During this adventure, Speedstar encounters an "after-image" of the Wally West Flash who warns him of his future self and of forthcoming events.
- Hal Jordan, using his powers as Parallax, sacrifices himself to stop the Sun Eater.
- Clark Kent and Lois Lane marry. Clark regains his powers as Superman.
- Supergirl confronts Clark and Lois concerning her true origins, but keeps the reasons for her being in the past to herself.
- Steel creates a new suit of armor with a modified "S" on it.
- The Contessa gives birth to Lena Luthor.
- A new JLA forms with its most powerful lineup yet: Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Lady Flash, Green Lantern and the Martian Manhunter. Soon, the JLA is called upon to stop an invasion by a force of White Martians known as the Hyperclan.
- Aztek and the second Green Arrow, (Connor Hawke) join the JLA.
- Cyborg attempts to separate Superman into two separate energy forms but through the last-second actions of Supergirl instead causes Supergirl to become Supergirl Red and Supergirl Blue.
- In Richmond, Virginia, Wonder Girl and Arrowette confront the apparently twelve year old girl calling herself the Secret. The three girls decide to band together as Young Justice.
- The funeral for Libby Lawrence-Chambers is held in a private ceremony in New Mexico.
- Starman and the Mist's son is born.
- Young Justice first meet the Red Tornado, Earth’s Air Elemental, who agrees to become their mentor. The trio adopt a labyrinth of caves under Brown’s Island as their headquarters, nicknaming it the "Justice Caves".
- Young Justice clashes with the organization, All-Purpose Enforcement Squad (A.P.E.S.).
- Green Lantern, (Kyle Rayner) is confronted by the last Guardian of the Universe who entrusts him to rebuild the Green Lantern Corps. He leaves Earth to carry out his duties, accompanied by Jade, (daughter of Sentinel [the original Green Lantern]). who is given the original power ring from the late Hal Jordan. He is later joined by Darkstar John Stewart and former Green Lantern Guy Gardner, both of whom turn down being reinstated in the new Green Lantern Corps, but agree to help keep the dream alive.
- In a battle with the demon Neron, Princess Diana is killed and her soul taken to Mount Olympus where she is resurrected as the Goddess of Truth.
- Hector Hall, son of Hawkman and Hawkgirl and formerly the Scarlet Scarab, assumes the mantle of Doctor Fate after it is revealed that it was his destiny.
- Queen Hippolyta becomes the third Wonder Woman, but mysteriously disappears.
- Andrea Thomas, a 28 year old Egyptologist working for the Eastern Shore Museum of Fine Arts of Virginia in Queenspointe, is among a team of archeologists in a previously unknown pyramid in the Valley of Kings when she discovers an ancient Egyptian amulet that transforms her into an avatar of the goddess Isis. She decides to assume the identity of Isis for the benefit of Mankind.
- The new JLA disbands and reforms with a new 14-member team consisting of Superman, Batman, Aquaman, Lady Flash, the Martian Manhunter, Aztek, Green Arrow, Steel, the Huntress, Tomorrow Woman, Orion of the New Gods, Doctor Fate, Oracle and a floating position to be filled by a "mission specialist". The Martian Manhunter is recognized as the overall caretaker of the team.
- The Cowl's research experiments lead him to believe that he could seize control of Hypertime and begins to make the necessary calculations and preparations.
- Speedstar and Labrynthe, investigating mysterious temporal explosions by research facilities in their respective cities, are hurled through Hypertime with the Cowl and Rafael to an alternate 31st Century where they confront a Legion of Super-Heroes that counts the Man of Steel Superman as one of their members. They join forces with the Legion to uncover an elaborate plot by the Time Trapper to gain total mastery over Hypertime by merging with his original self, the Cowl. During the climactic battle with the Time Trapper in his realm within Hypertime, Speedstar is presumed dead when he is caught in the collapse of the Trapper's domain. Labrynthe is returned to his proper time and place. He is met by an older version of Speedstar who claims to have spent decades wandering throughout Hypertime in his finding his way back home.
- Chronos decides to do something about the "infection" he has discovered in Hypertime.
- The older Speedstar assumes his life and grows increasingly romantic with Cutlass and is haunted by traumatic nightmares which motivate him to push himself beyond human limits to protect his city any way he can from all perceived threats.
- Cutlass, in a desperate effort to reach Speedstar, begins a physically romantic relationship with him. While it is something that she has secretly hoped for a long time, it is a relationship that means more to her than it does to the future Speedstar.
- Young Justice confronts the so-called Psyba-Rats.
- The Millenium Giants awaken and begin to undo the effects of the last millennia. In the process of stopping them, Supergirl Red and Blue as reintegrated and transformed into the Maid of Steel Supergirl.
- In an effort to find help for a burned-out and tormented Speedstar, Labrynthe and Cutlass contact the JLA in hopes of finding an appropriate psychiatrist. They discover a series of temporal phenomena in recent years and agree to help the JLA investigate them further. Lady Flash agrees to help Speedstar and contacts Max Mercury. Max agrees to counsel Speedstar.
- An earthquake registering 7.6 on the Richter Scale hits Gotham City, destroying all but a few buildings, including Wayne Manor and most of the Batcave.
- Cameron Chase becomes an agent for the Department of Extranormal Operations, (DEO) a government agency that monitors metahuman activity in order to safeguard the public.
- Walker Gabriel becomes the second Chronos. While traveling through time, he discovers the city outside of time, Chronopolis, and of an "infection" to Hypertime and the Speed Force.
- Under the control of Mister Mind, Sarge Steel orders a nuclear strike on Fairfield, Ohio, the home of Captain Marvel's friends and family. Thousands are killed.
- Gotham City is refused relief funding from the Bush Administration. All roads to the city are cut off and declared a "No Man's Land" that is no longer considered a part of the United States. Batman is forced to take an indefinite leave of absence when he gets caught in Gotham City during the quake. Batman digs in for the long haul to protect the innocents who were abandoned by the government.
- The JLA is forced to replace Batman when it seems that the Bush Administration views Gotham City as a lost cause and the JLA is forbidden to take any action. Batman names Wildcat, (the enduring Golden Age hero who trained Batman) as his replacement.
- Princess Diana discovers that the supposedly destroyed Promethean, (the Ancient gods) are returning to wage a war against all Creation. Defying the gods to protect the Earth, she is stripped of her godly abilities and finds a new purpose and direction in her life. She resumes her career as Wonder Woman after learning of her mother's mysterious disappearance.
- Losing his cybernetic hook in a battle with the undersea king, Noble, Aquaman is fitted with a prosthetic hand made of Atlantean metal, which can shape itself into almost any form he can imagine.
- The JLA is contacted by the second Chronos to warn them of the imminent collapse of the time stream unless they could help purge the Speed Force and Hypertime of an "infection". They accompany Chronos into the Hypertime Flux.
- Terrorists manage to hijack four planes and cause the events of September 11th focused on the former World Trade Towers and the Pentagon.
- The future Speedstar lashes out at Muslim residents of Empire City, fearing another terrorist attack. Although he apologizes profusely, it changes how he was seen by the public.
- The JLA, caught in Hypertime and helping Chronos, (and indeed the "after-images" of both Barry Allen and Wally West within the Speed Force) against the Time Trapper and his bid for gaining total mastery over Hypertime through directly influencing the Speed Force. It is revealed that the future version of Speedstar was a "quantum duplicate" that housed the essence of the Trapper. The JLA is successful in defeating the Trapper. In the resulting backlash of energies, Superman is caught in a Hypertime eddy that causes him to be split in two - the Man of Energy and the Man of Steel. The Man of Steel is apparently lost in the time stream (he emerges in the alternate 31st Century, destined to become a staunch member of the LSH).
- The older Speedstar is seen as a threat to public safety by the Empire City media and precautions are secretly made by the authorities that would enable them to deal with him.
- After losing a battle with Hammerjack, the older Speedstar is apparently lost in Hypertime as the Cowl reemerges from being lost in time.
- Speedstar returns home by the Legion of Super-Heroes from the 31st Century after he had taken part in an adventure that allied them with the other Legion of Super-Heroes in the 30th Century, Superboy and Supergirl that ended when Supergirl sacrificed herself to "realign" the time stream. Her self-sacrifice causes the 30th Century LSH to be replaced by the formerly alternate 31st Century LSH and causes a new future to take root.
- Ed Johnson, (Speedstar) learns that Cutlass was carrying the unborn child of his "quantum duplicate". She cuts all ties with him, still mourning her lover’s passing.
- Speedstar seeks out Max Mercury's counsel concerning Cutlass and her unborn child.
- Reducing his role in the JLA, the Martian Manhunter dedicates himself to becoming the protector of the planet's southern hemisphere. Taking his place in the JLA was Zauriel, a fallen angel of the Pax Dei.
- Wonder Woman, while investigating her mother's disappearance, uncovers evidence that she was lost in the past when she uncovers a photograph from World War Two of a JSA containing her mother that should never have existed.
- Labrynthe learns of a new "syndicate" linking Queenspointe and Empire City. He and Speedstar begin to investigate and realize the scope of the criminal organization was more than they could ever have imagined.
- Speedstar and Lady Flash become lovers.
- Impulse regains his lost memory to realize that he was the son of Speedstar and the 31st Century Dawn Allen, (a direct descendant of the Barry Allen Flash and part of the duo that made up the hero team the "Tornado Twins") and resigns from the New Titans to return to his proper time.
- Isis meets Cutlass for the first time when she helps to dispatch an ancient Egyptian demon after it was accidentally released by Professor Hubert G. Wyndam of Imperial University.
- Labrynthe seeks information on the mysterious syndicate from Mourningstar after he locates him in a drug-den within Queenspointe. Using his telepathic powers, the hero doesn’t attract attention to himself and learns that Zeebeefreebian technology might be involved in the syndicate’s rise to power. He also suspects that his frequent foe Rafael and one of Speedstar’s enemies, Hammerjack might be the operating force behind the syndicate. He joins the metahuman vigilante, Mourningstar in investigating his suspicions. What they uncover is only more questions as to what is really going on when they learn of the involvement of the Blood Clan, (an international organization of assassins) in a "gang war" to control the Sister Cities of the Chesapeake.
- Zauriel sacrifices himself to save Earth from Mageddon, an ancient piece of Elder God technology. Although it is only his physical form which ceases to exist, he is replaced in the JLA by the current Starman.
- Thanksgiving night. Speedstar is engulfed in a blinding, purplish explosion and finds himself joined by Lady Flash, Max Mercury and Labrynthe to stop a war between the Blood Clan and a mysterious, unknown faction. Speedstar finds his speed powers to have increased to previously lost levels and the heroes learn that the heavily armed members of the unknown faction were actually field agents for the new syndicate that has apparently seized control of nearly all criminal activity within both Empire City, MD and Queenspointe, VA.
